Aim of the meeting
In this session, users of The Observer came together to learn about the latest product developments, exchange experiences with other users, and discuss future development, desired product features, etc.

Program

  1. The Observer: new software features and hardware developments (what’s new in version 4.1, high-quality screen capturing, using nesting levels in video compilations, Event Logging Interface, etc.).
  2. Reliability analysis on continuously measured data in The Observer 4.1: explanation and demonstration of new and improved algorithms for analyzing reliability (by Roland Jansen).
  3. Case studies presented by users of The Observer, coming from different research disciplines. Subjects can be the type of research or tests users are doing with The Observer, problems that are being faced, and solutions that have been found, including Developing a system for capturing classroom interactions (by Fay Smith).
  4. Discussion about possible directions for new developments (e.g. the use of portable devices, integration with physiological measurements, reporting functionality, new ways of data entry or different analysis features).
