Match Vision Studio software is designed to facilitate the systematic observation of the sport practices, within the frame of the observational methodology. It was developed to facilitate the user observing, codifying, registering and analyzing any situation that occurs in a natural or habitual context, when the conducts are spontaneous. The user can define up 12 mutually exclusive code sets and up to 120 different behaviors to facilitate data collection. This allows the user to work with any observational data type: sequences of events, sequences of events with time, sequences of states, interval sequences or multievent sequences. Furthermore, Match Vision Studio plays digital video files, which makes video and taxonomic tool to be displayed on the screen at the same time. Just clicking the mouse, the user can handle the video file (to pause and play it again) and record the different responses. Time and duration are automatically registered, the user has the option to record them in frames or seconds. Raw data are displayed in a separate window and entry errors made can be edited while coding. The data analysis feature allows the user to calculate percentage of intervals, frequency distributions and conditional probabilities. Taxonomic tool, raw data and analysis results are saved in spreadsheets, which can be opened at any time for editing. Raw data can also be re-opened to carry on coding, which is really helpful for the user.
