Symposium: Funding for Research in Behavioral Studies

Date: Wednesday, August 27
Time: 09:30-10:50
Location: Athens
Chair: Andrew Spink (Noldus Information Technology)

This session investigates what possibilities are available for funding of behavioral research from the two largest funding bodies (NSF and EU). To fit with the international nature of the conference, the focus of this symposium will be on funding for trans-Atlantic and other international projects.

Betty Tuller is Director of the Program in Perception, Action, and Cognition for the US National Science Foundation. As a researcher herself she sees things from the scientist’s perspective and also has a special interest in international collaborations. Ramon Rentmeester gives advice about funding opportunities at the European level: the FP7 programme for research & technological development. This is quite a large programme and offers several, quite distinct grants ranging from grants for individual researchers to funding large industry-academia consortia.

After the presentations by the two speakers, there will be ample opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion. If you would like to submit your questions in advance so that the speakers can prepare, please mail them to andrew@noldus.nl.
