With only a few days to go until the abstract submission deadline of 7th February, the MB2018 program committee has accepted a new symposium. Normally we would not consider an application which gives the speakers so little time to submit their abstracts, but in this case the topic is so important that we made an exception. The symposium is about lab animal welfare, especially how new technologies can advance the '3 Rs' - that is, Replacement, Reduction, Refinement of animals in research. This has always been a topic close to the heart of the organisers, and we usually do have a session related to animal welfare, so we are very pleased that welcome this one. For more details, see here. An added bonus is that the symposium is organised by the UK National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement & Reduction of Animals in Research, which has an outstanding reputation in the field.
