This privacy policy describes how Measuring Behavior uses and protects any personal data that you might provide to us when you use this website or contact us by other means. You are able to visit and access all of the information and material on our website without having to submit any personal data unless you choose to.

If you require more information and to be kept informed about the conference and associated community, we will ask you to provide us with some or all of the following personal data:
•    Contact details: first name, last name and e-mail address
•    In some circumstances (including registering for the conference), additional contact information such as name and address of your work will be required
•    On the social media channels of Measuring Behavior, your social media contacts
•    Other data that you intentionally and voluntarily share with us in free text fields/web forms.

We will use this personal data for one or more of the following actions:
•    To inform you about the Measuring Behavior conferences and other closely related news
•     For reviewing and processing your submissions for the Proceedings and similar documents

Your personal data will be available to the conference organizers including Noldus Information Technology, local hosts, symposia chairs and scientific program committee. It will only be shared with those parties to the extent that is it is necessary for the conference and related activities.  It will not be used by the organizer for any other purposes such as direct mailing, cold calling, etc and only be available to those organization that are directly involved with the conference.

When you register for a Measuring Behavior conference, your contact details will only be available in the delegates list if you explicitly agree to that. However, the name and e-mail of the corresponding authors will be publically visible in the conference Proceedings in line with normal scientific practice.

Information integrity
We strive to keep your personal data correct and up-to-date. We will make reasonable efforts to have your personal data available to you on request for viewing, for making corrections or additions. 
Legal basis for collecting personal data
Consent: before we collect and store any personal data, you have to give your consent. We will ask you to actively opt-in. We will clearly inform you about what you are giving consent for.
Contract: in order to fulfil our contractual obligations to you (e.g. as conference delegates), we will need personal information as stated above to ensure correct delivery of information, invoicing, etc.
Controlling your personal data
You are in control, at any time you can exercise the following rights with regards to your personal data:
•    Right to view
•    Right to change
•    Right to be forgotten; all your personal data will be removed
•    Right to data portability; transfer your personal data to elsewhere
•    Right to be informed (e.g. through this privacy statement)
These rights can be exercised by contacting the data protection officer of the conference organizer, Noldus (dpo@noldus.com). We will strive to meet your request within 30 working days.

Security
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure we have suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Our data is stored on private servers in the European Union. Regular back-ups are made and safeguarded and are also kept in the EU.

Data retention
We will store, use and safeguard your personal data for as long as necessary in order to fulfil your requests or meet our contractual obligations to you. At any time you may exercise one of your rights as indicated above and ask us to delete your personal data. However, if you do this after registering for the conference and before the conference ends, if could result in a cancellation of your registration.

Our website contains links to enable you to visit other websites of interest. Once you leave our website, you should note that we do not have any control over the other website and it is not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Transfer of Personal Data
We will not sell, transfer, trade or lease your personal data to third parties, unless we have informed you otherwise and have obtained your permission, or the Dutch law forces us to.

Changes to the privacy policy
We may update our privacy policy from time to time. We advise you to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you by posting the new privacy policy on this page. The changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
