Farmers risk perception and agricultural productivity: evidence from field experiments.

This study considers 2 Indian states, endowed differently natural wealth to explore relationship between farmers' risk perceptions and farm productivity. This is important in the context of impacts of climate change and how policies shape behavior.

11:45-12:00    Using Cow Location Data For Practical On-farm Applications – A Pilot Study.

Applications for location data in dairy farms were explored. In a herd with 117 Holstein Friesian cows, preference for drinkers was studied. Cows preferred open water troughs over fast drinkers. Location data might be used for several purposes.

13:00-13:15    Using Infrared Thermographic Images for Early Detection of Clinical Lameness in Dairy Cattle.

Lameness has a major impact on the dairy sector. This study focused on detecting clinical lameness in dairy cows in an early stage, by combining sensor data, data from thermographic images and data from manual and visual scoring.
