For Measuring Behavior 2014, Research Accommodation Carus will open its doors. Carus (Latin for ‘caring’) is the name of the animal research facility of the Department of Animal Sciences, part of Wageningen University. At CARUS, studies are performed in the field of sustainable animal husbandry, behaviour and welfare, biology and aquaculture.
We would like to invite you for a tour through our pig facility to learn more about our recent research on pig behaviour. The tour is guided by Inonge Reimert, postdoctoral researcher at the Adaptation Physiology Group of Wageningen University and she has recently been graduated on pig behaviour, emotions and welfare.
Due to our hygiene protocol we have a max. of 20 persons for this tour. Therefore, please register by sending an e-mail before the 25th of August to inonge.reimert@wur.nl. Please mention your name, job title and the company you work for. You will receive a confirmation e-mail if you can join.
ATTENTION: Our hygiene protocol demands that visitors to CARUS have to be free of contact for at least 24 hours with cows, pigs and poultry.
